keep it local

keep it siargao

welcome home

Paradise isn’t a place…it’s the best version of your own reality. But if it were to be a place, we’re pretty sure this would be it.
With open arms and a sincere joy in sharing the island magic, you will find family you never knew you had. The waves are world class and the views
are unforgettable, but we venture to say that they’re the second best thing about Siargao. Around here, community comes first.
And we like it that way.

community commitment

Punta Punta is located in the small village of Cabitoonan, just minutes away from General Luna. Not long ago, it was only accessible via boat or a long motorbike ride through jungle paths and wild pigs and income was generated from fishing and coconut farming.

With Siargao now a destination for the wanderers at heart, many of our neighbors now lean heavily on tourism to sustain their families. Neighborhood fishermen are now your friendly boatmen taking you out to your favorite surf spots.

Our team is made up of families from our own backyard – incredible individuals who have always called Cabitoonan home and invite you to get to know their way of life. The local community is a resilient one – and a beautiful one – and we are so proud to be a part of it.

kids of cabitoonan

With half of the population under 10 years old, there are a lot of smiles going around. And a big need for helping hands! We truly believe that it takes a village to raise a child and strive to provide a positive impact in any way we can. With profits from every stay, we help fund local families with the tools they need to provide basic necessities for their children’s success. We are working to create new community programs to give children access to English lessons, after-school activities, environmental awareness with beach clean-ups and educational games and surf lesson incentives through Grom Nation Siargao.

Want to know how you can help? Reach out! We’re always excited to share the world with our groms and would love to share it through your eyes!

typhoon odette relief

In December of 2021, after a challenging year in quarantine lockdowns, Siargao was hit by a category five super typhoon that left the island devastated and in critical condition. 90% of the islands infrastructure was destroyed, leaving friends and family without shelter, access to drinking water, food or basic survival supplies. Through the support of our global community and former guests turned friends, Punta Punta was able to secure enough funding to provide 80 homes in Cabitoonan with new roofing materials and over 185 families with 2,000 lbs of rice, drinking water, food, shelter, newborn and young child essentials and solar-powered lights. There is still much work to be done and we are seeing the power and resilience of this community like never before. Your support means so much more than you know.
