you made it to paradise
so much more than it’s waves…
Siargao’s teal pealers put the island on your radar,
but that’s only the beginning of what our paradise
island has to offer. Take a break from the waves,
hop on your scooter and explore the Real Siargao.
island hopping
Siargao is just one island in a sea of many. 7,000 or so, in fact. The islands surrounding Siargao each have their own distinct character and local charm. Play volleyball under the palm forest of Daku, earn epic views at the top of the Corregidor hike, and laze around on the white sand beach of Mam-on. The west side of the island offers other, lesser known but equally magical islands to explore. Contact us to book your day trip.
land tours
Driving along the main road of General Luna, you might wonder what all the fuss is about. But head to the north of the island and experience the Siargao magic for yourself. Sharing the secret makes us cringe a bit, so in exchange, we ask you to do us all a favor: travel responsibly. Dress appropriately on the beach, be mindful of disposing your trash (or better yet, don’t bring any!) and treat the locals with respect. With Bathala Land Tours, you’ll experience Siargao’s unique and rich culture with a clean conscience. Jump on the back of the jeepney, grab a local cup of joe and learn the ancient practical art of basket-weaving from local village teachers.
diving + free-diving
Siargao is located right on the edge of the Philippine Trench, making it a dream destination for divers and free-divers looking to add a unique location to their bucket list. Palaka Dive Center offers Discovery Dives for beginners, introductory free-diving classes as well as PADI certification courses for scuba divers looking to up their game. If your calling is more under the surface than above it, dive in and explore what
kiteboarding
Some of us can’t get enough of the board life, so when the wind is up and the swell is down, the lagoon becomes the preferred playground. Mid-November to mid-March offers up the most consistent wind for kiting and colorful kites add to the amazing hues of the sunset view. The General Luna lagoon’s shallow waters make for perfect conditions for beginner kiters, while advanced riders have the wall of the reef and waves to explore.
wake boarding
If you’re not really that into open water and lakes are more your thing (no shame in the lake game!), the Siargao Wake Park is for you. Try out the thrill of wake boarding without the fear of the big blue. Hidden between the thick palm tree forest awaits an afternoon of fun for all levels. Beginners learn the basics of cable-riding, while advanced boarders can show off their skills to their friends sipping on Belgian beers in the bar.
SUP/kayak mangrove + lagoon expedition
Okay, maybe expedition is a strong description…but this DIY adventure is as easy or wild as you want to make it. Borrow a stand-up paddleboard or kayak from the bar at Punta Punta, grab a picnic lunch and stuff your dry bag with sunscreen and a camera and you’re ready to explore the hidden mangroves of Siargao. Cruise through the inner-island river system, visit unnamed islands in the lagoon or stop at the starfish-covered beach and hang out under the shade of a coconut tree. Keep your eyes out for crocodiles! They don’t bite…hard.
yoga, meditation + massage
We get it. Vacation is exhausting business. Between the boat trips and the surf trips, you need some time to relax, tune in, zone out and unwind. General Luna town has several venues offering morning and afternoon yoga classes for a variety of levels, as well as spas for massage and pampering services. If you really want to treat yourself, we are happy to organize private yoga, meditation and surf fitness classes onsite as well as on-call massage services at Punta Punta. Downward dog your way to calm without leaving your tent. Contact us to organize your custom wellness experience.
